Fire Safety
As we operate in a shared building the following procedures will be adhered to for fire safety:
- Ensure the fire exit is unlocked. There is a metal gate (outside, to the side of the building) to unlock. This is particularly important after 5pm, on weekends or public holidays when the building is unlikely to be occupied. Keys are on a hook in the kitchen.
- Upon arrival please turn on the lights and open the working shutters. These are activated with a switch next to each set of shutters.
- Group organisers are responsible for all attendees checking in and out using the fire safety sign in sheet (located in the kitchen).
- Fire extinguishers are located by the main entrance and in the main event space. Please only use if safe to do so.
- In the event of a fire please leave calmly and safely. The fire exit is clearly marked on the doors. The fire meet up point is the Travelodge hotel.
- In the case of a fire or other emergency, where safe to do so, please assist wheelchair users or those with limited mobility out of the building.
- Upon leaving please turn off the lights and close the shutters. This indicates that the space is not in use for the other building occupants.
- If leaving after 5pm, weekends or on public holidays please ensure that the fire gate (outside) is locked and return the keys to the kitchen.
